Bandits snatch gold, diamonds

Two armed bandits held up two sales clerks at Llewelyn’s Jewelry in Montrose, Chaguanas and escaped with a quantity of gold and diamonds. Report revealed that around 1.35 pm yesterday, sales clerks La Toya Williams and Nisha Phillip were on duty when two men pretending to be customers began asking about the prices of goods.

One of the men then pulled out a gun and ordered the two clerks to put all the gold and diamond jewelry into a bag. They then ordered the two clerks to lie on the ground, before escaping. Acting Sgt Ajith Persad and PC Kirk Sheppard visited the scene and carried out a futile search for the suspects.
