Sheep thieves jailed for 12 months
TWO Debe men found guilty on Wednesday of stealing two sheep were jailed for 12 months each by Deputy Chief Magistrate Mark Wellington in the San Fernando First Court. Defendants Matthew Ramsaran and Ramesh Mewaldass were arrested and charged with stealing two sheep valued $450 each from Ramnath Singh, also of Debe. Both men were charged by PC Hamilton of Princes Town Police Station. When the evidence was presented to Magistrate Wellington, he ruled both men were guilty as charged and imposed the custodial sentence.
