Man United coaches meet Central FC counterparts

The Central FC “Sharks” were at the stadium to play a training match against the National Under 20 squad, preparing for the Concacaf U-20 tournament in January.

Director of Youth & Women’s Football, George Romano said, “It’s great to get the opportunity to pick the brains of coaches from around the world. In football, you can never stop learning, and obviously, guys like Kevin and Eamon receive excellent training at Manchester United.”

National Under 20 Assistant Coach, Dale Saunders, who is also assistant to Zoran Vranes at Central FC and “Sharks” Equipment Manager also chatted with the English Premier League clubs coaches. “Being around professionals from a club like Man United can only help our staff to step up their levels of professionalism. For up and coming young coaches like Dale, the experience is invaluable,” he said. Last Saturday was a busy day for Pro League leaders, Central FC’s players and staff. Leston Paul, Kaydion Gabriel, Qian Grosvenor, Marcelle Francois and Keion Goodridge all attended IBB Global’s “Day For Special Needs Children” together with Team Manager, Kevin Jeffrey.

The event, conceived by Gillian Wall, CEO of the IBB Global Group, was designed to give special needs children a fun day out full of special surprises.

“Gillian is a good friend of Central FC, along with her Powerful Ladies Of TT group,” said Central FC Operations Director, Kevin Harrison.

“When Gillian asked if some of our players could attend and teach the children some skills, we were delighted to accept. It follows on perfectly from our recent Differently Abled Coaching Clinic, which will be followed next year by our Differently Abled Coaching Clinic which will feature coaches from English Premier League club, Chelsea.”

Meanwhile, striker Rundell Winchester joined Darko Michael and Assistant Coach, Mark Leslie in Couva for the second Christmas Hamper Food Collection at JTA Supermarket. “It’s a busy few weeks for the club,” said Harrison. “This week will also see the launch of the first Central FC public information commercials.”

Harrison said the short videos tackle road safety issues such as encouraging the wearing of seatbelts and warning against texting while driving.

“The ads are supposed to be humourous but with a serious message. We hope that they will get lots of slots on TV, radio and in movie theatres this Christmas, and that, in some way, they help to save lives.”

Central FC held their final Christmas Hamper food collection yesterday in Chaguanas.
