Diego man charged with River Estate murder

KEON ANTHONY, 29, also known as “Ratty” appeared in court yesterday charged with a murder committed nine months ago. He was arrested by the police after he was shot in Diego Martin last week. Anthony, of Tomato Trace, Bagatelle, Diego Martin, appeared before Magistrate Avason Quinlan in the Port-of-Spain Fourth Magistrates’ Court charged with the murder of Meshach Samuel at River Estate in Diego Martin, on December 13, 2003. Anthony appeared in court with the aid of crutches. His case was postponed to August 13. Two others who were previously arrested for the same murder, were committed recently to stand trial at the Port-of-Spain Assizes. Nine prosecution witnesses gave evidence at the preliminary inquiry against Mc Donald Bailey, 38, of River Estate, and Gareth Wiseman, 25, of Chaguanas.
