But for Crosby how far the song, Go Granny! Go! has gotten is mind blowing. The song and the response from other members of the industry, his far, is bigger than the song. “People said to me the country needs this. We need to laugh with so much happening in TT,” she said.

For Crosby, while she takes what she is doing very seriously, it is also done out of the desire to entertain TT.

Her performance at the semis, while meant to entertain and to draw on Crosby’s comedy background, was also done in earnest to truly earn granny a spot in the finals.

“While granny was there, I personally did not want her to get in as a pappy show. I wanted granny to earn her spot..I respect Calypsonians and soca artistes to the highest...I wanted her to earn her spot and I think she did.”

As for what fans can expect from Granny in the finals, don’t expect fireworks and confetti. “ I am not seeing this as a competition. I am always on stage to go out there and give my best performance,” she said.
