Claxton Bay man goes missing

It has been nine days now since Nigel Nicholas was last seen by his family and co-workers. A worried mother came to the Newsday office in a bid to locate the eldest of her eight children. “I cannot eat or sleep. I am searching for answers and will not rest until I find my son,” said Ingrid Nicholas. His grandmother Althea Richardson is deeply affected, and cries all the time. Nigel Nicholas of  Rig Road Extension Maingotville, Clax-ton Bay, was last seen by his mother on Thursday August 12. She said Nigel, who is employed as a rigger at Paramount in Point Fortin for the past year, left the house at 4 am. They both went to the Royal Bank San Fernando and withdrew $900. She kept $200 and gave the rest to her son. He then left at 4.45 am for work. Nigel was last seen leaving work at 5 pm for home, but no one has seen him since.

Efforts to locate Nigel have turned up empty. “I have contacted relatives, friends, even his girlfriend, but no one has seen him. He is my first-born and we never had any fallouts. Nigel is an obedient child. He never stays away from home more than one night,” said Nicholas. Nigel, who is usually paid on a Thursday, spends the night at his girlfriend and returns home by Friday. A missing persons report was filed on August 19 at the Marabella, St Margaret’s and Couva Police Stations. Anyone with information of the whereabouts of Nigel Nicholas can contact his family at 752-4494 or the Marabella, St Margaret’s or Couva Police Stations. Nicholas said, “I just want my first-born to come home. Whether you are in trouble, no matter what, please come home. We miss you and we are worried.”
