Corpus Christi proud of Mikkel

Principal of Corpus Christi Private Secondary School, Sr Petronella Joseph, said the school was extremely proud of Mikkel Trestrail’s achievement. She said while the school was a girls’ school, they began accepting boys to do Advanced Level subjects a few years ago. She described Mikkel as a “very special student” who originally applied to another school to do his A’ Levels, but was refused. She said some of the teachers at that school had recognised Mikkel’s ability and were sad at the decision. Sr Joseph said Mikkel was depressed because of the school’s decision.

She said when she told him he was welcome at Corpus Christi, “He smiled. That brought joy to his life.” Sr Joseph said the school which had refused Mikkel, later rescinded its decision, but by that time he had already decided that “we were so generous to him, he would stay.” She said he was also the first Head Boy at the school and the announcement was received with overwhelming applause from the students. “He doesn’t let his disability keep him back. He is very inspiring and likes to carry his friends to pray.”
