Woman testifies for lover against husband

A CUREPE woman was among the first State witnesses called to give evidence against her husband, who is charged with the February 28 2002 murder of her boyfriend. Sandra Parbatie Achalal, of Riverside Road in Curepe, yesterday recalled the events leading up to the murder of her 35-year-old boyfriend, Junior Burgess of Pancham Trace, Curepe.  Achalal’s husband, Harrinarine “Danda”Achalal, 39, also of Riverside Road, Curepe, is before Justice Mark Mohammed at the Port-of-Spain Fifth Criminal Court charged with the murder. Police photographer PC Kissoon Badloo also gave evidence. Harrinarine was represented by attorneys Wayne Sturge and Elvis O’Connor. State attorney Kathy Ann Waterman Latchoo is prosecuting. Hearing resumes tomorrow.
