The workshop, which was attended by a number of well known local designers as well as some who are not yet known to the public, was intended to teach participants about the technical aspects of garment design and give them the knowledge and tools to turn their creativity into solid businesses.

Beard spoke about producing samples with a good technical package; sketching and the need to provide manufacturers with detailed sketches to industry standards; the importance of producing clothing with the right fit; producing patterns; garment production and fabrication as well as overseas communication with potential buyers.
