Moses calls for global solidarity

Moses noted that this country’s national Vision 2030 is in alignment with the agenda for global transformation and called for improved opportunities for the vulnerable and disenfranchised.

On the issue of climate change he emphasised the importance of the Paris Agreement to which Trinidad and Tobago became a signatory in April of this year, and stated that Government has instituted incentives to encourage investment and job creation in renewable and clean technologies in the transportation and industrial sectors.

He conceded that illicit drugs, the arms trade and human trafficking will negatively impact economic and social development.

He said that violent extremism cannot be ignored and that steps must be taken to prevent young people from falling victim to recruitment.

He said TT is committed to building an effective global framework for strategic collective architecture that addresses the negative social, economic and psychological conditions that give rise to violent extremism.
