Shiva Boys move to top spot in SSFL

With the win Shiva moved from 16 points to 19 points and now lie alone at the top of the table. Before yesterday’s matches, Shiva, St Anthony’s and Naparima were only separated by goal difference at the top of the table.

Naparima took only two minutes to take the lead when Judah St Louis found the target at Lewis Street in San Fernando. Junior Asson equalised after 30 minutes to leave the match 1-1 at halftime.

The match seemed to heading for a draw but Samuel delivered the goods with a goal two minutes into stoppage time to break the hearts of the Naparima supporters.

A double from Omarley James gave Signal Hill an upset 4-3 win over St Anthony’s at the St Anthony’s Ground in Westmoorings.

Also on target for the Tobago boys were Akiel Frank and Jelani James.

Fyzabad and St Mary’s both moved up the standings with constrasting victories.

Fyzabad crushed Trinity 4-0 in Fyzabad, while St Mary’s edged North Zone rivals East Mucurapo 2-1 at the Fatima Ground in Mucurapo.

The other matches ended in draws as Queen’s Royal College (QRC) and Pleasantville played to a 1-1 tie, the St Augustine-Presentation San Fernando match ended 0-0, while Fatima and San Juan North battled to a 2-2 finish.
