Toyer captures gold, bronze at US Open karate

Toyer’s brother, Tristan gained a bronze medal in kata, Tehera Jones won gold in kata and got silver in kumite, Cindy Guevara attained gold in kumite and silver in kata, Giselle Laronde-West took silver in kumite and bronze in kata and Betty Tam Chong, who resides in Canada, also gained a bronze medal.

Other team members who fought hard, but could not medal in their categories, were Kristof West, Shanika Hernandez and Aariz Celestine.

SKIFTT continues to excel in both local and international tournaments, while instilling perseverance, focus, camaraderie and determination among its karatekas.
