What I expected of the President

I expected him to meet with the common man and get on the ground to feel our heart beat.

Our President may not have always gotten things right as the job was new to him and he may have received bad advice. Who knows? Nevertheless, who would turn down a request from His Excellency to attend a meeting at his office? I’m talking about groups like the Inter-Religious Organisation.

Such a meeting would take messages across all faiths. Meeting with heads of large and medium sized companies or groups, the President could ask them to adopt poor communities in TT .

I thought he would encourage children to lead the fight against littering. I thought he would meet with the past and current mothers of murder victims and murder suspects. I thought he would meet with families of vehicular accident victims to help him carry a message of safety.

We know that the President cares, we know he is under scrutiny, but please, for our sake, do not waste valuable time in office by being overly cautious. Avoid the politicians at all costs.
