According to the release, “The Trinidad and Tobago Civil Aviation Authority (TTCAA) wishes to advise the general public of the issuance of its Operative Directive TOD-005 which takes effect from 20th October, 2016.

“TOD-005 deals with the prohibition of the carriage of any Samsung Galaxy Note 7 Devices on board aircraft. As such, TOD-005: “Prohibits persons from offering for air transportation or transporting by aircraft any Samsung Galaxy Note 7 device on their person, in carry-on baggage, in checked baggage, or as cargo, or shipping it via air cargo; “Requires national and foreign aircraft operators and pilots-in-command of general aviation aircraft to alert passengers to the prohibition against air transport of Samsung Galaxy Note 7 devices, in particular, immediate prior to boarding, and to deny boarding to a passenger in possession of a Samsung Galaxy Note 7 device unless and until the passenger divests himself and his baggage of the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 device.” The new directive applies to all national and foreign airlines; cabin crew and aircraft passengers.

Samsung has since stopped production of its S7 after many reports of the phone exploding.
