JSC starts inquiry

In a release issued yesterday by the Parliament, the JSC is calling on stakeholders and interested people to submit comments, suggestions and recommendations related to the subject of the inquiry. Among the objectives of the inquiry are an assessment of the systems in place to protect patients against malpractices by doctors; an assessment of the standards and procedures in place for hiring foreign doctors and monitoring their performance, and an assessment of the practices and procedures adhered to by the Medical Council in relation to disciplinary procedures involving medical doctors.

The deadline for submissions to the JSC is November 4.
