Bishop Anstey East retain Secondary Schools swimming crown
The annual event which now includes south, east and central schools featured 88 schools. In their debut at the meet, Vessigny Secondary School won the Secondary Co-ed title, with Hillview College winning the Boys Secondary title. In the Primary School division, St Finbar’s RC, Arima Boys’ RC and Point Fortin RC won the girls’, boys’ and coeducational categories respectively.
Fifteen meet records fell on the day, with Regyna Marie Joab of St Joseph’s Convent St Joseph establishing records in the 14-and-over non-competitive 25-metre breaststroke, backstroke and butterfly. Christiano Rivas of Cunupia Government Primary and Josiah Changar of Tunapuna Presbyterian established two records apiece.
The meet was officially opened by Wendell Lai Hing, who became president of the Amateur Swimming Association of Trinidad and Tobago (ASATT) two days prior to the meet, while former ASATT head Hazel Haynes delivered the welcome address.
Also on hand for the march past of teams were officers of ASATT Andrea Brache (secretary), Anthony Edwards (assistant secretary/treasurer) and Jason Wickham (PRO).
Tidal Wave Aquatics next host their Annual Secondary Schools Swim Meet on November 6 at the Centre of Excellence Swimming Pool Complex.

Combined Team Scores - Primary: 1.Point Fortin RC School 214.50; 2 University School 135; 3.Learning Living Institute 113.
