Local official withdrawn from TTCB duties
According to the TT CB Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Suruj Ragoonath in a telephone interview yesterday, “this is not your normal matter.
We need to be very careful and very responsible in this situation.
In the meantime, the accused is not going to be involved in any thing (relating to the TT CB) until the matter is resolved fully.” Asked if the TT CB met with the player involved in the scenario, Ragoonath replied, “this is a sensitive matter. I am not at liberty to comment on it.
The matter is being investigated.
The TT CB is not making any statement on it. It’s an internal matter and it’s very sensitive.” With regards to the technical committee of the TT CB, which was set up to investigate the matter, the ex-TT and West Indies opener stressed, “we have put a committee in place and the matter is being investigated.
It’s a very sensitive matter and it is being dealt with. In the meantime, what we have chosen to do, because of the sensitivity of the matter, is try and not make any statement on it.”
