Fire guts mini-mart

Police said Sangre Grande fire officers received a trouble call around 3 am informing them that the shop, located a short distance away from the Manzanilla Beach facility, was ablaze. However, by the time the officers arrived at the scene of the wooden structure, it was already engulfed in flames. No one was hurt in the incident. Police said losses have been estimated at some $85,000.

The cause of the fire is yet to be determined. Investigations are continuing.
