Paradath hits Udecott’s response over FOIA
He said Harrilal made the application on August 29, 2016 and that so far she has not had any formal response from Udecott.
However, Udecott denied that it had failed to respond to any request for information under the act and specifically that it had received any request for information from any Member of Parliament.
Udecott said that on August 29 it received a request from Harrilal of Princes Town and a second request a day later from Rishi Maharaj of an organisation called Disclosure Today based at Abercromby Street, Port-of- Spain.
Udecott said it responded to both requests within a month with letters dated September 26, 2016, providing the requested information in the form of a spreadsheet along with a full list of the contracts awarded at the date of the Freedom of Information Request. Udecott said the work on the academy was broken down into 19 packages and all the packages were tendered and awarded and provided a full list of the works, the contractor to whom the job was awarded and the cost of the project.
