YTC win TT Marathon schools category

The YTC runners competed in the Relay Marathon and won the schools category while placing a highly commendable fourth overall. The YTC team crossed the finish line in a fast two hours, 56 minutes and 55 seconds. Rounding out the top three in the schools division were Couva West Secondary School (3:40:50) and St Joseph’s Convent Port of Spain (4:09:41) respectively.

The overall relay marathon winners were Richard Jones Racing Team (2:27:13) while Defence Force (2:28:08) placed second and Coast Guard’s “Bravo” (2:53:41) third.

The Trinidad and Tobago Prisons Service yesterday extended “congratulations to the team and the members of staff who worked with them”.

The marathon relay is a segment of the increasingly popular TT IM, promoting teamwork for those unable to complete the gruelling 26.2 mile course solo.

This year attracted one of the largest number of relay teams from corporate TT , schools and general public.
