Caribbean Club Championships on May 14
Two-time defending Digicel Pro League champions Central FC of Trinidad and Tobago are in Group A, along with Cibao FC (Dominican Republic) and Grenades FC (Antigua/Barbuda), while 2015-2016 Pro League runners- up San Juan Jabloteh (Trinidad and Tobago) will feature in Group B, as well as Portmore United (Jamaica) and Racing FC (Haiti).
The overall winners of the Caribbean Club Championships, under the auspices of the Caribbean Football Union (CFU), will advance to the 2017-2018 Scotiabank CONCACAF Champions League. The second, third and fourth-placed teams will participate in CONCACAF’s newly launched Club Championship for Caribbean and Central American clubs in August.
On the opening day of action (May 14), Jabloteh will oppose Racing FC while Central FC will face Grenades FC. Two days later, Racing FC will tackle Portmore United and Cibao FC will meet Grenades FC.
And, in the final day of round-robin action (May 18), Jabloteh will host Portmore and Central FC will entertain Cibao FC.
The respective group winners will square off in the final on May 21, following the thirdplace playoff, between the second- placed teams in each group.
Matches each day will be contested at 5.30 pm and 8 pm.
