Shot siblings sent home

Lian and Lael Alexander of Railway Road, Enterprise, Chaguanas were at Building 7 in Maloney with their mother at 9.05 pm when shot were fired. Lael was shot in the right hand while Liam was shot in the left hand.

The children were taken to hospital and warded for several days.

They both underwent emergency surgeries to have bullets removed and were recuperating at their Enterprise home yesterday.

Maloney police led by ASP Mervyn Edwards carried out a look-down of Maloney hours after the incident and detained a 21-yearold man with a Colt .45 pistol with seven rounds of ammunition.

The gun was sent for ballistic testing to ascertain if the weapon was used in the shooting of the children.
