Let goodwill last all year

PRESIDENT George Maxwell Richards would like to see the goodwill of the festive season be extended thr-oughout the whole year. He made the point in a message broadcast on television on New Year’s Day. The festive season, he remarked, brings out in us the spirit of sharing and the desire to bring added joy to our families and friends. “Even those who do not belong in our circle can benefit either by our giving of material things or our extending greetings spontaneously as we pass them in the street, or both. The air is charged with goodwill.”

Richards wished that this spirit of goodwill would manifest itself throughout the year and in every place in our country, and in every man, woman, boy and girl. “It is a spirit of unity that can take us forward in a positive way to fulfil the destiny of our country among the family of nations.” On behalf of his wife Dr Jean Richards and his family, Richards wished peace, joy and happiness to the entire nation, particularly those of the Christian faith.
