Abducted employee released

He was released an hour later in Barrackpore, when police began chasing after his abductors. According to reports, shortly after 3 pm, Alloy Rodriguez of Fyzabad was sitting in his white Nissan Navara van outside Anand Low Price Supermarket located in Gulf View, La Romaine when a white Nissan B14 car drove alongside the van and two men jumped out and entered Rodriguez’s vehicle. The men took control of the van and drove towards Barrackpore with Rodriguez as their captive.

A report was made to police who in turn issued an All Points Bulletin. As police began pursuing the abductors, Rodriguez was thrown out of the vehicle in Barrackpore.

He was picked up by police.

Rodriguez said he was robbed of cash and personal items by the men.

Police said Rodriguez was robbed on two occasions after collecting monies from clients in the past. The exercise was co-ordinated by Head of the Operations Unit Insp Don Gajadhar assisted by Sgt Morrison and Sgt Ramlogan of the Princes Town Police. No arrest has been made and investigations are continuing.
