Central FC to stage football camp at Macoya
The camp will run for two weeks until August 4 and will be staffed by a host of well-known coaches including Central FC coach Dale Saunders, national team assistant coach Stern John, former Trinidad and Tobago women’s midfielder Ahkeela Mollon and John’s 2006 FIFA World Cup national teammates Carlos Edwards and Brent Sancho, together with surprise appearances from other top coaches and players.
“The summer camp has been designed as an introduction to professional football coaching for the over 12s, while it is hoped that for the 7-11 age group, the camp will attract a new generation of players to professional football,” said Sancho, Managing Director of Central FC.
The camp will run each day from 8.30am to noon and each child will receive an exclusive “Junior Sharks” Adidas jersey, snacks, refreshments and a certificate.
The camp will also be visited by the Central FC first team players who will be preparing for their CONCACAF League game vs CD Arabe Unido of Panama at Hasely Crawford Stadium, Mucurapo on August 3.
“We will be providing all of the children with complimentary tickets for the game, so they will get to see the players they meet in action,” said Sancho.
Sancho applauded the generosity of the camp’s corporate sponsors.
“We’ve had fantastic support from Blue Waters, Nestle and Sunshine Snacks and it’s great to see these companies investing in youth. Obviously, these companies recognise that this is more than just a standard recreational summer camp.” Sancho added that the aim is to provide the highest standard of youth coaching at an affordable price.
“At only $499 for two weeks, children will be coached by a dream team of professionals for only $50 per day. When you add in the extras they will receive such as the exclusive Junior Sharks Adidas jersey, snacks, refreshments and tickets to a CONCACAF League game, there can be no better value football camp this summer.” For more information or to book one of the remaining places, call 201-BALL (2255).
