Wow! What a wedding!
Guests are still talking about the May 28 wedding of Darryl Smith and Danielle Campbell. The elegant wedding had all the trimmings of royalty and guests were unanimous in their compliments, describing the lavish affair as "The Wedding of the Year" or "The best wedding ever." Accomplished and well-known wedding planner Dr Jean Campbell transformed the big day for her only child, Danielle, into a spectacular event. Jean and husband, veterinarian Dr Mervyn Campbell of Goodwood Park spared no expense. Classy decorations along with hundreds of flowers adorned the St Ann’s RC Church setting the stage for what was to be an enchanting evening for Danielle who is an attorney and businessman Darryl, son of Richard and Greer Smith of Diego Martin. The celebration started quite aptly with "Trumpet Voluntary" by trumpeter Enrique Moore as Danielle, dressed in a stunning gown punctuated by Sarovski crystals, seemed to float up the aisle with her Dad. The choir was breathtaking with renditions of "Veni Creator", "Ave Maria" and "Salve Regina" as were Nigel Floyd of Marionettes and Glenis Yearwood with "All I ask of You." Fr Gervais Girod was the officiating priest. The groom’s father Michael Smith was bestman. Outside the church, the police kept the narrow St Ann’s Avenue clear as parking was provided at the Chinese Association and a shuttle bus system was put in place. After the ceremony the couple left for the reception at Chaguaramas Golf Club in a white Jaguar convertible driven by the groom and accompanied by police outriders. The golf course was transformed into fairyland. The d?cor was a gift from family friend and co-worker Brian Chin. Everything went like clockwork at the meticulously planned reception. The sumptuous meal which included caviar, an attractive salad bar, tempting desserts and the unusual cake, baked and decorated by the bride’s mother, all contributed to an exceptional evening for the nearly 400 guests. Guests included Senate President Dr Linda Baboolal and husband Dr Michael Baboolal, former commissioner of police Everard Snaggs and Mrs Snaggs, Mayor Murchison Brown and Mrs Brown, Dr and Mrs Ewart Taylor, Ruthven Smith, Justice Annestine Sealey, Principal of Hugh Wooding Law School, Mr Louis Mc Sween, Mr and Mrs Anthony Smart, Mr and Mrs Cedric Coussement, Mr and Mrs Michael Alexander, Reuben Mc Sween and Sean Cazabon.
