TCL: Cement supplies are back to normal
TRINIDAD CEMENT Ltd (TCL) yesterday advised all of its stakeholders in the construction industry that the cement mill three of its Claxton Bay plant has been successfully restarted and is now capable of producing "a wider range of cement types for the market." In making the announcement, TCL said local cement supplies will return "to a state of normalcy over the next week" as it seeks to fill the backlog of orders and return the cement inventory in the trade "to prevent shutdown levels." The mill had been closed from November 7 to 28 for integration into the plant’s current operations. TCL said the increased production capacity of this mill will facilitate the efficient production of cement to meet the increased demand of its customers in Trinidad and Tobago and the wider Caricom region. TCL apologised to its customers for inconveniences caused over the last three weeks and thanked them for their patience. The company thanked its sister company in Barbados, Arawak Cement Company, for the support it provided during the last three weeks.
