Two baby girls born in South

TWO South families were yesterday blessed with a baby girl each for Christmas. The first baby girl — Adana Anjone Cedeno, was born at the San Fernando General Hospital (SFGH) at 1.14 am to proud parents Steve, 35, and Dhanmatie, 32, of San Antonio Estate, Pepper Village, Gran Couva. Dhanmatie, a sales clerk at Triple S Bargain Centre in Couva, yesterday received a kiss of congratulations from her husband, Steve, a labourer, who was at her bedside from early yesterday morning. Baby Adana, who weighed 3.34 kg at birth, is the fifth child for her parents. Her siblings are between the ages 11 and seven. “I am so happy and proud for my new baby. Although she is my fifth child and we did not expect another, I love her because she is so beautiful,” Dhanmatie said.

She added that her baby girl must have been god-sent “especially on Christmas Day, she must have been sent by God for a purpose on earth.” The second baby girl, yet to be named, was also born at the SFGH to business couple Indarjit and Caron Rampersad of Byron Street, La Romaine. The baby girl, who was born at 2.31 am and weighed 3.08 kg, made it the third child for the Rampersads, owners of Rampersad Wholesale Company Ltd. Caron told Newsday yesterday that she was shocked at her Christmas baby: “I thought I would have given birth on Christmas Eve because I was admitted in hospital on that day, but I guess the greatest Christmas gift was for Christmas Day and no other.” Both mothers and their babies were resting comfortably at hospital, and yesterday they received hampers from Cheekies and Teddies.
