Man films sex attack on girl, 12

THREE Diego Martin teenagers will appear before a Port-of-Spain Magistrate tomorrow charged with false imprisonment of  a 12-year-old girl. Two older men and one of the teens have also been charged with grievous sexual assault, while another man who used his camera phone to film the savage attack is charged with aiding and abetting a crime. At around 2 pm on Friday the Form Two student, who was dressed in her school uniform, was walking along a major road in Diego Martin, when three schoolmates dragged her into an abandoned house.

According to reports, the two older men and one of the teenagers ripped off the girl’s uniform and sexually assaulted her, while another man filmed the incident. The girl managed to escape and ran out of the house. She went to the West End Police Station and made a report. A medical examination confirmed that the girl had been sexually assaulted. Later that evening, the police arrested three teenagers — a 15-year-old and two 14-year-old boys. Based on information, they later arrested the men ages 25, 21 and 31. Investigations into the matter are continuing.

In an unrelated matter, West End police are searching for a Maraval man suspected of brutally raping an 11-year-old female relative. Police sources said at about 5 pm on Friday, they received a call from Police Command Centre about a girl who ran out of her home screaming as blood ran down her legs. When police visited the scene neither the girl nor her parents could he found. A relative told the police the three had left the house shortly after the incident and their whereabouts were unknown.
