Fifteen homeless after Curepe blaze
FIFTEEN persons were left homeless yesterday after a fire gutted the top floor of a two-storey apartment building in Curepe. According to reports, firemen of the Tunapuna Fire Station rushed to the Lyndon Street building at noon, and were able to contain the fire to one building and save an adjoining multi-complex building. The ground floor of the destroyed building, which contained six apartments, sustained water damage. Fire Services said the fire started in the kitchen. Officers estimated the damage at $3.5 million. Investigations are continuing.
