Baby found dead in crib
The death of Brian Kyle Sahadeo, son of Harrilal and Kumarie Sahadeo, has been ruled by a pathologist as Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS), commonly known as “crib death.”
The Sahadeos, of Sumair Trace, Navet Village, told police they put Brian Kyle to sleep at 8 pm Monday. When they awoke at 5 am the next day, they saw him lying motionless in the crib. The couple told police they tried to revive the infant without success. The police and District Medical Officer Dr Rampaul were contacted. Rampaul pronounced the baby dead at the scene.
In her report, Dr Eastlyn McDonald Burris stated that SIDS was the cause of death. According to a website on SIDS, the medical term describes the sudden death of an
infant which remains unexplained after all known and possible causes have been carefully ruled out through autopsy, death scene investigation and review of the
deceased’s medical history. SIDS is responsible for more deaths than any other cause in childhood for babies one month to one year of age, claiming almost 7,000 babies each year in the US.
