Hungarian promoter wants to sue Ramoutar
The threat was issued after Ramoutar refused to allow Ramnarine to defend her WIBF title against Bilinski on Saturday last in Hungary.
Yesterday Ramoutar said Ramnarine endured a stressful period en route to face Bilinski last weekend.
He said Kiss and his colleagues had given him the assurance that visa and flight arrangements would have been made for Ramoutar and Ramnarine to travel to Hungary for the fight.
Ramoutar added however that on reaching London, England they learnt that no arrangements were made for the second part of the trip forcing the Trinidadians to be stuck at the British airport. He pointed out also that while at the airport, they as well as airport officials made desperate attempts by means of telephone and e-mails to contact Kiss and his team. According to Ramoutar, when they eventually contacted Bilinski’s promoters, it was already well into the evening and impossible to fulfil their engagement to fight.
Ramoutar said Kiss was negligent in making visa and flight arrangements for them to reach the venue in time for the fight. He said they had to make arrangements which depended on information from Bilinski’s handlers.
“And even after we got the visas to enter Hungary, they did not book the flight which again caused us to have to contact them and that took another few hours,” he said.
Ramoutar who is also a kick-boxing trainer, claimed it was difficult for them to contact Kiss and his team from London.
He said his his refusal to allow Ramnarine to go to Hungary for the fight was based purely on her own safety and health. This latest episode is the second time that Ramnarine has unsucecssfully attempted to defend the title she won when she defeated American Yvonne Capels on March 28, 2005 in Port-of-Spain. Last year Ramnarine missed out on an opportunity to defend her crown against American Marianne Chubirka at the Central Regional Indoor Sports Complex, Chaguanas, after a dispute over the weight of the gloves.
