Falco scores with ‘Goal in Dey Pocoloi’

“Goal in dey Pocoloi” topped the competition which focused on the Soca Warriors, and was themed around the “On D Road To Germany” World Cup campaign.

Of the 65 artistes who participated in the prelims at the Triangle, San Juan on Sunday, 12 were selected for the final on May 6 at Skinner Park, San Fernando.

FIFA’s Match Commissioner Neville Ferguson congratulated Falko on a brilliant composition. He said the song contains dates and events leading up to the World Cup, which will give the nation first-hand information on the Soca Warriors’ journey to the World Cup. Chairman of the National Chutney Foundation, Dr Vijay Ramlal said the final takes place during the middle of the World Cup and the country will be cheering on the football team.

On the final night, Calypso Monarch Luta will be performing his winning “Kaiso Kaiso”. He will share the stage with De Fosto, Anil Bheem and Beemers, Andy Singh and the SSL Melobugz, Kes the Band and Maximus Dan.
