Kitwaroo slams another century
He hit his third century for Super League defending champions Clarke Rochard Government School on Monday.
Playing against Rancho Quemado Government at PowerGen Gound, Penal, Kitwaroo maintained his phenomenal form, batting throughout the innings for a magnificent 162 not out with 22 fours of his team’s total of 235 for four
Rancho Quemado were skittled out for 75, with Kitwaroo among the wickets for Clarke Rochard, taking two for 26 to earn his fourth consecutive “Man-of-the-Match” award.
He received excellent support from Dennis Nandlal (three for 13) and Randy Narine (three for 17). Kitwaroo has dominated the batting in the Super League, amassing 442 runs from five innings at an average of 110.5.
At Squadron Ground in Diego Martin, Mayaro Government registered their third win, scoring 92 all out and bowling out Diego Martin Boys RC for 88.
Ronell Arthur turned in a fine all-round performance for Mayaro, making 30 runs and taking two for 23 to earn the “Man-of-the-Match” award.
Rochard Douglas Presbyterian made 127 for six at Inshan Ali Park in Preysal, easily beating Montrose Government, who were bowled out for 79.
Rochard Douglas’ all-rounder Amit Badree, with 50 runs and two for 13, was named “Man-of-the-Match”.
The Big Four Semi-finals of the Super League will be played on Monday, May 29.
John Lewis, president of the National Primary Schools Cricket League, said yesterday that the standard of play in all divisions of the competition for 2006 so far was very high, with excellent performances from several players.
“We are witnessing exciting cricket which augurs well for the future of Trinidad and Tobago. The partnership with Atlantic LNG is reaping rich dividends for the players and the league,” he noted.
