The fund, which opened on the May 12 will close on May 29.
Subhas Ramkhelawan, managing director of Bourse Securities, said with the opening of the second tranche, the fund continues to outperform all mutual funds in the market.
“Its capital appreciation is in the order of 24 percent since the beginning of the year as measured by its Net Asset Valuation. It is also the top performing listed security on the Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange, gaining some 13 percent in market value, he said in a statement.
Bourse, the statement said, has been receiving great interest locally as well as regionally for the second tranche.
Ramkhelawan noted that India, itself, continues to get rave reviews on its economic performance and enhanced competitiveness. He cited the International Institute of Management Development (IiMD) which showed India climbing ten notches in the world rankings from 39 up to 29.
The fund, he added, continued to provide an valuable instrument for further diversification of investors in TT. “Our clients have great satisfaction in this investment as they witnessed the rest of the market fall away,” he added.
The fund’s investment adviser, Prudential ICICI Asset Mangement, has about $6.1 billion assets under management, it was noted.
