Legal Aid hosts free clinic
“This is our 30th anniversary and there was no other way to celebrate than giving back to the communities that we serve,” said Denise Caesar, communications officer of the Ministry of Legal Affairs.
The LAAA, which provides legal services to persons of small or modest means, recently launched its “Here to Help” campaign to raise public awareness of the services it provides. The campaign will include panel discussions, workshops and weekend clinics which will focus on a range of topics, including domestic violence, common law unions, the rights of the elderly, child custody and visitation.
Clinics are planned for Barrackpore, Sangre Grande, Chaguanas, Mayaro, Toco, Point Fortin, Speyside, Rio Claro, Siparia and, Plymouth in the coming months.
