TSTT warns of hoax

In a release the company said it was brought to its attention that persons claiming to be TSTT officials are contacting customers requesting personal identification and mobile account details. The customers said the persons promised them they would win free services if they co-operated with the survey.

TSTT said it is not conducting any surveys and customers who receive such calls should be aware it is a hoax. Customers should desist from giving any details about their service especially their phone’s IMEI number (International Mobile Equipment Identity) number pre-programmed into the handset, as this can result in their mobile account being compromised.

TSTT said it will work with the relevant authorities to apprehend the perpetrators of this scam and encourages customers to provide TSTT with caller ID details from any such calls.
