Detour Shak Attack win at last

It was a match-up of two of the league’s three winless teams and Shak Attack dominated their opposition who were short on First Division experience.

Smarting from their 78-70 loss to TT Elite on Sunday, Shak Attack were behind 18-16 when the first quarter ended. But when the second session started the Laventille-based team took full control of the contest and led 40-28 at half-time, 74-38 after three sessions and 109-65 in the end.

For Shak Attack forward Terrance Mayers had a career-best 38 points to give his team their first win in three matches. Akil Paynter top-scored for Forum with 29, but his team stays winless from their three matches.

Today’s matches have been postponed because the Jean Pierre Complex is unavailable. Competition in the zone will resume on Sunday with a triple-header.

The zone is in its 17th season with 17 clubs playing in three divisions — Men’s First and Second and Women.

Matches are played on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.
