Sugar boss wants child labour policy

Indarsingh stated that it was the responsibility of the ministries of Social Development and National Security, to ensure that children were not being exploited for gain.

In light of the recent murders of four-year-old Emily Anamanthodo and six-year-old Sean Luke, Indarsingh issued a call to Attorney General John Jeremie and the Minister of Labour and Small Micro Enterprise Development, to declare whether there is a policy in place to prevent such atrocious crimes from re-occurring.

Indarsingh said that in order to make a dent on the practice of child labour, Government needed to elaborate a clear and effective policy for the eradication of child labour in Trinidad and Tobago.
