Warrior to the bone
One such enthusiast, Kathleen Brown a Trinidadian working as an accountant in Bermuda, spoke of her undying love for the national team, donning a feather headpiece in true warrior style at the Fritz-Walter Stadium, on Tuesday.
Brown, 41, was so sure the Soca Warriors would follow through to the round of 16 , she scheduled her return flight to Trinidad for June 27.
“Simply taking part in the World Cup finals was a real honour and great success for us,” said Brown.
Brown reminisced about her visit to Berlin, Bochum, Nuremberg and Munich where, she said, the atmosphere bore a festive mood similar to the spirit of the Caribbean. Brown said everywhere she travelled the people were warm and inviting, a reminder of the feeling expressed during the Carnival season in Trinidad and Tobago. When asked her opinion after seeing the match between Trinidad and Tobago and Paraguay, Brown said: “I still believe in our team and even though we did not make it as hoped , I will still be celebrating with my new found German friends.”
