Guitar Society hold fiesta

The society is a non-profit organisation promoting guitar and music education.

A varied repertoire of classical and folk pieces will be presented by the society’s orchestra directed by Anders Kappel. Soloists include Dr Morgan Job, Dr Rawle Jibodh, Franco Jamohansingh, Winston Gordon, Music Festival winners and Ronald Fortune.

The society celebrates its 21st anniversary – devoted to encouraging all children and families to play or enjoy the soothing music of the classical guitar. Dr Job, vice president of the society, said, “Children must be exposed to a wide choice of music. Music heals. Music touches each listener and unites all mankind. Music ennobles.”

He encourages primary and secondary schools to arrange for students to attend. He also appeals to parents to carry their children to the concert.

Tickets are available at Simon’s Musical Supplies, PoS and at St Crispin Anglican Church on the day of the concert and from society members Roselyn Mc Namara (625-4896), Dr Jibodh (663-6593), and Anders Kappel (645-5775).
