Drillers return to winning form

With the win Drillers ended a three-match losing streak but they had to compete for the victory until the final seconds ticked off the clock.

Trailblazers, looking for their first win of the season after four defeats, led the opening quarter 23-21 but by half-time it was Drillers who took control of the contest 47-40.

The teams then traded points with Davis, Ako Pascall and Jason Cadiz doing most of the scoring for Drillers, while Dirk Jacobs and Cornelius Cain carried Trailblazers’ hopes of an upset victory.

Drillers, winners of their two opening matches, went in front 91-90 inside the final two minutes and held-on for the win.

In the first match, W&S Pistons got their second win in three matches with a 84-60 victory over Carenage Warriors who remain winless after three matches.

The zone is in their 17th season with 17 clubs playing in three divisions— Men’s First and Second and Women. Matches are played on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.
