Digicel makes Chinese connection

In a statement yesterday, Digicel said Konka is its first overseas partner and this alliance represents the Chinese company’s entry into the Caribbean market.

The company said it will work with Konka to market a range of cutting-edge handsets at competitive prices including the “exclusive to Digicel” offer of the popular D163 slim phone with MP3/MP4 playback, 1.3 pixel camera with flash and 4x digital zoom.

Digicel said this phone was released in China in March and it hopes to market it in the Caribbean during the summer, along with an exciting new portfolio.

Digicel’s relationship with Konka began last December with the sale of the EC001 and C926 phones.
