Cops probe two homicides
In the first incident, police reports stated that Ramdeen Ramkissoon, 40, an out-patient of St Ann’s Mental Hospital, was found dead in a drain on Saturday at St Mary’s Village, Moruga.
Police said Ramkissoon, was found naked and lying in a drain at the back of a house near his home.
Ramkissoon, reports said, was last seen alive by his brother, Ramdath on July 3.
The body was examined by district medical officer Dr Arjoonsingh who did not find any marks of violence on the body, police said.
Cpl Leon Joseph of St Mary’s police post is continuing investigations.
In the second incident, the body of an unidentified man was found floating in the waters off King’s Wharf, San Fernando on Saturday.
Police reports stated that at about 10.30 am the body of an East Indian male was spotted floating at the wharf by a fisherman.
The body, which was clad in a yellow jersey and black pants, was fished out of the water by police and taken to the San Fernando mortuary. Police said there were marks of violence on the forehead.
Post-mortems on the two bodies are expected to be conducted at the Forensic Science Centre, St James today.
