Catholics’ gospel to woo youths
He stated at the press conference that the competition will be used to encourage positivity and creativity in the nation’s youth as music is appealing to everyone but especially to young people. He added, “I must say that I am impressed with the level of creativity and the grasp of young people who do logos, songs and presentations which is exactly what we (the Church) want (to encourage).” The competition entitled “Chariots of Sound, Wind and Praise” kicks off with five preliminary shows: September 9 in North Trinidad; September 10 in the East; September 16 in Central Trinidad; September 23 in Tobago and the 30th at a venue in South Trinidad.
Three finalists from each region will be chosen to compete in the finals on October 28.
A logo and jingle competition were also held. A winner for the logo competition were not chosen
However, a special award was given to Reyya Andrews, a fifth standard student of Sacred Heart Girls’ RC School, Port-of-Spain.
