Kamla meets UNC aldermen

The meeting was held at Rampersad Brothers ranch in Raju Trace, Penal and took place hours before the party’s regular Monday Night forum which was held at the same venue. Persad-Bissessar declined to speak with reporters on entering the meeting but sources said the the selection of possible candidates for the various regional corporations was discussed.

Some 30 councillors attended the meeting among those were incumbent Chaguanas Mayor Suruj Rambachan, Penal/Debe Regional Corporation chairman Dr Allan Sammy, Princes Town Regional Corporation chairman Premchand Ramchand and Mayaro/Rio Claro Regional Corporation chairman Ramlochan Panchoo.

Noticeably absent was Penal/Debe Regional Corporaton alderman Ken Emrith who has aligned himself with the Winston Dookeran faction of the party.
