Let’s not crucify Zidane

This writer hastens to mention that such behaviour ought not to be condoned and trusts that positive lessons are learnt arising out of this most unfortunate incident.

Having said that, let’s not crucify Zidane, all that’s required is a sincere apology and I feel confident that Italian football fans and by extension fans worldwide will forgive this great player. We all know that “forgetting” is always difficult but “forgive” we can, thereby affording Zinedine the opportunity to enjoy his retirement peacefully and in a happy state of mind with his family.
