Prisoner found dead in cell

Reports revealed that at about 6 am, prison officers found the body of Mukesh Bissoon, of Fyzabad, motionless in his cell.

Officers of the Homicide Bureau were alerted and a party of officers led by Cpl Eric Parks went to the scene.

The body was viewed by a district medical officer and ordered removed to the Forensic Science Centre.

Investigations revealed that Bissoon had injuries to the back. An autopsy will be carried out tomorrow.
