Guard charged for false report
Police said the 22-year-old guard of Whiteland, Gasparillo falsely reported that the vehicle was stolen at his workplace when the car was in fact stolen from a hotel at Marabella.
According to reports, the guard initially told Gasparillo police he was on duty at a primary school in Gasparillo when he was heldup and his Nissan Sunny valued $12,000 was stolen.
Police said their investigations revealed the car was stolen outside Villa Capri Hotel at Agnes Street in Marabella while the guard was at the hotel.
He was charged by PC Rawle Burke with making a false report to police and is expected to appear before a San Fernando magistrate today. Police are continuing investigations into the larceny of the car.
