TT juniors lift Stephen Ames Cup

In the end TT conjured up an impressive 15-five win after three days of competition and earned bragging rights.

The Canadians defeated the young TT golfers at the inaugural tournament in Canada last year.

Under-18 golf sensation Martine De Gannes gave a sterling performance to turn back a fighting Lanei Bendzik by one point eight to seven.

Then she looked on as Ben Martin sewed up the title in the Boys 18 and Under category over Michael Bosch.

After three days of interesting golf, Martin literally handed TT the victory with some impressive golf on the 15th hole to finish five shots ahead of his rival.

In the Boys 15 and Under category, Sirron Melville put up a desperate struggle against his Canadian opponent Sean Jedrusiak on the final day but went under one to two.

But Melville made huge strides at the end of day three yesterday after he started the day some five shots behind his counterpart and narrowed the difference between them to just one shot.
